The Time loop machine is an Ancient Time travel device located on P4X-639.

Overview.gifOverview

The device is controlled by a control panel, panel heights are changed to set its parameters and then one of the buttons on the side are pressed which activates the device. It builds up a charge and shoots a beam at the Stargate causing it to temporarily dial several surrounding Stargates and accesses the subspace field that these Stargates generate creating a bubble in space. The device is powered by ionization in the atmosphere which is caused by a geomagnetic storm. The device loops time every ten hours however this may appears to be an accidental by-product of its true function. (SG1: "Window of Opportunity")

History.gifHistory

The Ancients created the device in order to travel back in time to prevent the Plague from spreading, they spent time trying to prefect the device but were unable to do so, ending up abandoning it and letting the end come. In 2000 the archaeologist Malakai had found the planet and discovered what the machine was and attempted to use it to go back in time and see his deceased wife again activating 14 Stargates simultaneously. SG-1 visited the planet when Malakai tested the device and Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c were caught in the devices field and remembered each loop. They managed to later convince Malakai to deactivate the device. (SG1: "Window of Opportunity")
