The Stargate Travel base is a support system for the Destiny-style Stargates.
Overview
Each of these bases hold a Stargate in place which allows for its rotating function while dialing. The base also allows for entry and exit from the Stargate. These bases are incredibly stable and can withstand a fair amount of force without toppling over. There is a chevron light in the floor of the ramp near the Stargate and several other lights spanning across the ramp sides. There is also an access panel on the side where the Stargates controls can be located. (SGU: "Air, Part 3", "Aftermath", "Cloverdale", "Common Descent")
Notes
- It is unknown if the bases provide the power to the Stargate as well as connecting via subspace to Destiny and other gates within range or if that is entirely within the Stargate.
