Overview
Type
SG-2, like SG-1, is primarily an exploratory team but also engage in rescue missions, aid missions and research operations. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "The First Ones", "Politics", "Prodigy")
Formation
SG-2 was the second team formed when Stargate Command was created. The team then consisted of Charles Kawalsky, Warren and Casey and went on their first official mission through the Stargate to Chulak.

History
SG-2 was the second team formed after the President order that Stargate Command be started. Major Charles Kawalsky was given command and Lt. Warren and Casey joined the team for the mission to Chulak to determine the Goa'uld threat and if possible rescue Sha're and Skaara. SG-2 months later were still active, returning from a mission when Senator Robert Kinsey came to assess the SGC. When SG-1 went through the Stargate on an unauthorized mission, SG-2 was to be sent to bring them back, however the Stargate was unable to connect to the address SG-1 had went to. SG-2 returned from a mission which the rogue N.I.D used to come back through the second Stargate in order to hide the return from the SGC. They accompanied SG-1 to Kheb guarding the Stargate, when an ascended being came near them they were ordered to put down their weapons and let it leave. SG-2 accompanied SG-1 on a rescue mission on P3X-888. When Teal'c became trapped in the Earth Stargate and the SGC was ordered to resume normal missions, SG-2 was to be sent on a recon mission to P4C-796. After the SGC found the android Reese, SG-2 was sent to K'Tau to make contact with the Asgard however they were unable to do so. Jonas Quinn joined SG-2 for an archaeological survey of P36-231 and brought back artefacts. SG-2 also found the colonnade on P3X-439 with Ancient writing which led to the discovery of an Repository of Knowledge. General O'Neill also had a debriefing with SG-2 about their mission to P8F-809.
