Season nine of Stargate SG-1 is a 20-episode season which began airing on July 12, 2005 on the Syfy channel concluding on March 10, 2006 on the same channel. This season sees a new commander of Stargate Command, General Hank Landry and Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell taking command of SG-1 and attempting to re-form the team after their dispersal following the defeat of the Goa'uld.
This season starts the Ori arc, a race of ascended beings who attempt to convert our galaxy to their religion, Origin, to gain the power needed to destroy the Ancients. Several Priors, missionaries of the Ori, come to our galaxy with advanced mental abilities to prepare the galaxy for the crusade into the Milky Way.

| A glitch in the Stargate sends SG-1 off course to another planet. Returning home they discover a safeguard on a Stargate that reroutes travelers to other worlds unless a pass code is given. Breaking the code, SG-1 finds one of Anubis' labs and a man in stasis, claiming to have been captured by Anubis. They soon learn that he was not captured by Anubis but is infact a clone of Anubis with a highly evolved brain and telekinetic abilities. | ||||||

When more and more teams begin to arrive, a cause is found, a Black hole, and the first two teams go on a mission to stop it, however the alternate SG-1 may have an ulterior motive. | ||||||

| Teal'c and Bra'tac begin noticing that many of the Jaffa council have been acting strangely and changing their allegiances. | Attempting to stop the trafficking in a new highly addictive crop, Kassa, SG-1 find themselves in a fire fight. Fleeing back to the Stargate only to have is beamed away before their eyes. They are rescued by Earth's new battlecruiser, the Odyssey and learn that lots of Stargate have been disappearing from across the galaxy. | ||||||

Meanwhile Teal'c and a team travel to the Sodan to find them wiped out by one of their own who was changed by a Prior and are trapped when the transportation pillar used to get to the village is damaged. Mitchell follows the rescue team offworld, still out of phase and recreating the experiment, Dr. Lee sends Daniel out of phase as well, there he learns of an Ancient weapon capable of stopping the Ori. | ||||||
