| O'Neill is promoted to general and takes command of the SGC. A Russian soldier comes to the base to join SG-1 but is not allowed to join. The soldier collapses for an unknown reason and soon Daniel Jackson begins acting strangely and attempts to escape through the Stargate, only to discover that Anubis had been inhabiting him and was attempting to get out of the base.

He agrees to be an undercover agent and help bring them down but he disappears and reappears in Russia, now implanted with a symbiote. The SGC discovers that the Goa'uld have infiltrated the Trust and a Russian official and are intending to have Russia go into a nuclear war with America.

Ba'al contacts the SGC and asks for help in stopping them. Meanwhile Teal'c and Bra'tac use this time to take control of Dakara which will destroy the image of the Goa'uld as gods forever.
