- "Shol'va! To all those who would turn against their god, know this! For your insolence, you will die in the cold of space. What is rightfully mine will now return to me!"
- — Apophis
The Recall device is a Goa'uld device which is placed on Goa'uld ships which automatically pilots them back to the Goa'uld's homeworld.
Overview
The device automatically activates when it detects the ship in orbit of a planet not under the Goa'uld's domain and then pilots the ship towards the Goa'uld's homeworld at its top speed, which usually takes years to reach, and kills the pilot in the process. (SG1: "Tangent")
History
Apophis had these devices on the Death gliders aboard his ship when he attacked Earth. Later when the Tau'ri created the X-301 from the parts of these death gliders, the device activated taking Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c out into the solar system. The ship would have taken several hundred years to reach Apophis' world but they were unable to disable the device or adjust the trajectory of the ship, so they jettisoned from the ship. Later when repairing a cargo ship, Samantha Carter and some scientists made sure to check for a recall device. (SG1: "Tangent", "Fail Safe")
