A Point of Origin is a glyph on Stargates which denote the planet of origin.
Overview
The point of origin is used to chart a journey to another planet when dialing the Stargate. Point of origins can either be a unique symbol for each gate or one of other glyphs on the gate. The dialing address to Destiny does not require a specific planets point of origin, but rather a specific symbol - the point of origin for Earth.
