The People of P8X-412 are a race of humans from P8X-412.
Overview
The people are a poor people lacking in much technology, however they do still have some Goa'uld technology such as Staff weapons and a Goa'uld Healing device but are isolated and do not know how to operate the Stargate. The people have a judicial process called a Mal Doran to settle disputes, named after Vala herself. (SG1: "The Powers That Be")
History
The people used to mine Naquadah for Qetesh who would execute and torture them. When Vala Mal Doran returned to the planet, she posed as Qetesh and had the people continue to min but did not kill or torture anyone. In 2005 the people was visited by a Prior who attempted to convert the people to Origin who healed a lame man, Vachna. Later it was secretly visited by SG-1 and Vala, who once again took to pretending to be Qetesh to help the people reject Origin, however to do so she had to tell them she was not a god. The people had her imprisoned and put her on trial for planetary forced labor, during the trial the Prior arrived and infected the people. As doctors from Earth were unable to stop the disease, Vala used a Goa'uld Healing device to heal them but was unable to save them all. When the people had enough they caved into the Prior and converted to Origin. (SG1: "The Powers That Be")
