Immune system

An immune system is the protection system in humanoids that prevent disease and illness. The Jaffa have a stronger immune system due to the presence of a symbiote and when the Jaffa reach puberty their natural immune system begins to shut down. Without a symbiote a Jaffa can survive for a few hours but will eventually die without one. (SG1: "Children of the Gods", "Thor's Hammer", "Family", "Birthright")
