The Holographic Knight is a semi-solid hologram of a Knight whose purpose is to provide security to sensitive areas and protect advanced technology and information.

Function

The Knight is a hologram which is activated due to certain circumstances. When activated the Knight will follows its programming in order to protect an area or technology. The Knights are capable of interacting with certain matter such as the opponents they face using their sword, which does not cut the flesh but delivers serious pain. (SG1: "Avalon, Part 2", "Camelot")

Glastonbury Tor vault

The Knight in the Glastonbury Tor vault was activated when one passed one of the tests and removed the sword from the stone. This Knight could only be harmed by the one who pulled the sword either through physical contact or with the sword itself. Physical projectiles passed right through it. When the Knight was defeated access was granted to the treasures in the vault. (SG1: "Avalon, Part 2")

The Knight attacks Mitchell

On Camelot the Knight was activated to protect Merlin's Library and kill whoever entered the library. This Knight was controlled by a control panel and could only be injured by the sword in the stone that lay in the town square. (SG1: "Camelot")

When SG-1 entered the Glastonbury Tor vault they passed the tests and Cameron Mitchell pulled the sword out of the stone and fought with the knight managing to defeat him. When they visited Camelot another Knight appeared when they entered Merlin's Library and killed Antonius, the village historian who let them in. Mitchell fought this knight however he was unable to pull the sword from the stone . A young girl, Valencia, managed to remove the sword and pass it to Mitchell however he was unable to defeat it. Daniel Jackson accessed its controls and managed to disable it. (SG1: "Avalon, Part 2", "Camelot")
