History
The team was started by Dr. Elizabeth Weir who asked Colonel John Sheppard to choose members for his team. The teams first mission was to investigate the hive ship on the Wraith homeworld, however the team got into trouble when their Puddle Jumpers drive pods caused them to become lodged in the Spacegate. Many of their missions ended with them being attacked by the Wraith and forced to flee back to Atlantis, discovering that Teyla's necklace was a Wraith transmitter and they used it to capture a live Wraith. Later the team helped a civilization of young people, who had been ritually sacrificing themselves to keep the Wraith away, by extending the electromagnetic field that was keeping them safe. The team discovered that the Hoffans had concocted a drug to keep them safe from Wraith feeding. (ATL: "Rising", "Thirty-Eight Minutes", "Suspicion", "Childhood's End", "Poisoning the Well")
Trying to find a new source of food, the team met with the Genii and uncovered that they were a much more advanced society living underground, the team helped the Genii to infiltrate a hive ship to uncover information. The team then explored a planet which had the possibility of dialing Earth but they were prevented from doing so as it would kill millions of energy beings. When a storm threatened the city, the team helped evacuate the Athosians from the mainland and prepare the city for the onslaught. Later they had to defeat the Genii force that had invaded the city to take it over. The team were attacked above Proculis and saved by a powerful energy force, later they discovered it to in fact been the work of an ascended Ancient. (ATL: "Underground", "Home", "The Storm", "The Eye", "Sanctuary")
After finding the location of a Zero Point Module, the team traveled to Dagan and helped track down the "Potentia" hidden away by the Brotherhood of the Fifteen, unfortunately, the Daganians had reformed the long-dead brotherhood and took the ZPM from them. The team later traveled to a planet and uncovered that the Athosians had once been experimented on by the Wraith and that Teyla had some Wraith DNA in her genetic makeup. When the city came under attack by the Wraith, the team had to defend the city. Lt. Ford was partly fed on by a Wraith and almost died but became addicted to the Wraith enzyme and escaped the city. (ATL: "The Brotherhood", "The Gift", "The Siege, Part 1", "The Siege, Part 2", "The Siege, Part 3")
The team went to look for Ford and instead came to the aid of a Runner named Ronon. After being helped Ronon went back to Atlantis and later joined the team. Their first mission was to Olesia where their jumper was shot down and they were captured by prisoners, the team allowed the prisoners to flee through the Stargate, after it was discovered that most of them were innocent. The team went to Doranda and discovered that the Ancients had built a powerful energy device and weapon, which unfortunately was a failure. Helping kill a Wraith who had been trapped on a planet and terrorising the people, the team found a man raising a young Wraith girl as his own daughter. (ATL: "Runner", "Condemned", "Trinity", "Instinct")
The team went aboard the Daedalus to investigate an Ancient warship, the Aurora, they uncovered a Wraith onboard in one of the stasis pods attempting to uncover hyperdrive technology. The team was later ambushed and captured by Ford's coalition and duped into helping them destroy a hive ship. When Sheppard became trapped within a time dilation field, the rest of the team had to figure out how to save him. The team visited a planet where they found a group of people with the ATA gene lording over the others with drones and were forced to disable them. (ATL: "Aurora", "The Lost Boys", "The Hive", "Epiphany", "The Tower")
The team helped a Wraith they turned into a human, Michael Kenmore, to adjust to life but he started to remember what he was and the team had to move him offworld. When they went to Taranis and discovered that a supervolcano was about to erupt and kill everyone, they helped evacuate the planet. The team later had to help stop a Wraith attack on Earth and in the process damaged the Daedalus and were forced to turn an entire ship full of Wraith into humans and deposited them on a habitable planet, but they too started to remember and the team was forced to destroy them. (ATL: "Michael", "Inferno", "Allies", "No Man's Land", "Misbegotten")
The team came across a man, Lucius Lavin, and eventually became enamored with him due to a drug he was using. When Ronon Dex was recaptured by the Wraith and remade a runner, the rest of the team went to Sateda, Ronon's homeworld, to find him. The team later met the Asurans, a race of humanoid Replicators, and were captured and had their minds probed. When another team went missing, Sheppard's team went to locate them, finding a Wraith device had been affecting peoples minds and driving them insane. The team was briefly disbanded when the Lanteans returned to the city and the expedition left. They reformed to retake the city after it was taken over by the Asurans. (ATL: "Irresistible", "Sateda", "Progeny", "Phantoms", "The Return, Part 1", "The Return, Part 2")
The team came across Lucius Lavin again, finding him using some Ancient technology to appear invulnerable and were forced to save him and some people from the Genii and Acastus Kolya. When it was discovered that a virtual game that Sheppard and McKay were playing was in fact real, the team went to the planet to diffuse a situation they had started. The team later found a group of people who had put themselves in storage to avoid the Wraith and were forced to put their lives in danger risking to save them. The team took a jumper under the oceans of Lantea to locate the Mobile Drilling Platform and had to face off against a Wraith queen. (ATL: "Irresponsible", "The Game", "The Ark", "Submersion")
The team went to check on the Taranians and found that Michael Kenmore had used them for experiments to create dangerous creatures. When the city was forced to leave Lantea and ended up damaged and low on power, the team went to Asuras to steal a ZPM. The team went to Vedeena to find a seer who may have had information on the missing Athosians and then ended up on a planet where they uncovered the Asuran's new battle strategy against the Wraith, killing all the humans. The team was later called offworld when an identical Replicator team was found and given knowledge on how to stop the Asurans. (ATL: "Vengeance", "First Strike", "Adrift", "Lifeline", "The Seer", "This Mortal Coil", "Be All My Sins Remember'd")
The team later tracked down a subspace transmitter and found a Wraith cloning facility and had to crash a Wraith ship into it in order to destroy it. After Teyla was kidnapped by Michael, the rest of the team attempted to locate her, finding her not long before she gave birth. When the Daedalus mysteriously showed up in orbit, the team went to investigate, only to find it was actually from another reality and the ship began to jump, stranding the team on board. Luckily they managed to figure out how to reverse the drive and get back to their reality. (ATL: "Spoils of War", "The Kindred, Part 1", "The Kindred, Part 2", "The Last Man", "Search and Rescue", "The Daedalus Variations")
The team were returning home when their jumper lost power and then restored itself. Back on Atlantis they discovered that the consciousness of Elizabeth Weir had come to Atlantis and was causing problems for the city. On a mission to check on a research team which had failed to check in, the team dialed into a world, that was flooded. The team were checking on Carson Beckett offworld when the Wraith showed up and they were forced to fight them and their hive. A coalition had the team detained to be put on trial for crimes against the Pegasus galaxy, luckily Richard Woolsey was charged with their defense and managed to free them. The team was instrumental in stopping a ZPM-powered hive ship that was on its way to Earth, by boarding the ship and setting off a nuclear weapon. (ATL: "Ghost In the Machine", "The Shrine", "Outsiders", "Inquisition", "Enemy At the Gate")
Alternate Realities
- In an alternate reality, another alternate Daedalus showed up in orbit over Lantea and the team went to investigate. The ship jumped to another reality and the team became stranded on board. Over time they ran out of food and starved to death. (ATL: "The Daedalus Variations")
- In an alternate timeline, this team was known to only consist of Dr. McKay. John Sheppard was not in the military but a detective in Las Vegas. The presence of Teyla or Ronon on the team is unknown. (ATL: "Vegas")
Alternate Timelines
- In an alternate timeline created by Colonel Sheppard travelling 48,000 years into the future, the team disbanded following Sheppard's disappearance and Teyla's death. Ronon went offworld to train people to fight against Michael Kenmore and Dr. McKay left the expedition, returning to Earth and eventually finding a way to bring Sheppard back. (ATL: "The Last Man")
