Synopsis.gifSynopsis

When the Destiny drops out of FTL but there is no count down, it is discovered that an unknown star caused it and it would take several weeks for the ship to correct course, allowing the crew to go to a nearby planet to procure supplies. A large obelisk is found on the planet and a strange blue light begins emanating from it.

Quotes.gifQuotes

Everett Young: You look like you're ready to drop dead.
Nicholas Rush: And that would be a bad thing?
Everett Young: Yes, Rush, that would be a...bad thing.

[Chloe walks by the table, studiously avoiding looking at Scott. Greer and Scott notice.]
Ronald Greer: We call that...cold.

Tamara Johansen: Hmm, looks like a kiwi. Take it back and do a...
Ronald Greer: I'll do one right now. (takes a bite out of the fruit)
Tamara Johansen: Greer!
Matthew Scott: What the hell are you doing?
Ronald Greer: Oh, that's nice.
Tamara Johansen: We don't even know if it's poisonous.
Ronald Greer: (unconcerned) We will!

Eli Wallace: We're oh for three on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. What makes you think that these guys are gonna be any different?

Morrison: I'm not digging the latrine.
Ronald Greer: (to Dunning, intensely) Is that what you told him to do?
Dunning: Somebody's got to do it.
Ronald Greer: (chuckling mirthlessly) True enough. (to Morrison) Start digging.
Morrison: What? No, you can't make me.
Ronald Greer: (to Dunning) You, too.
Dunning: But Sergeant, I gotta—
Ronald Greer: You're going to dig, okay? You're both going to dig, and you're gonna love every moment of it, or you will keep digging until you do. (smiling to Scott) Spirit of cooperation. We're all friends now.

Everett Young: Hey, how's it going?
Adam Brody: (simultaneously with Park) Terrible.
Lisa Park: (simultaneously with Brody) It's great!
Everett Young: Which is it?
Adam Brody: Propulsion's almost completely shot. Might be able to get to the point where you can fly down to the planet, but there's no way it's gonna have enough power to get back up, so there's that. We're making some progress on navigation. We can turn left. But not right, or up or down.
Everett Young: Okay. (to Park) Why did you say "great"?
Lisa Park: W-we can turn left.
