Excalibur, not to be confused with the sword in the stone, was the name of the sword given to King Arthur Pendragon by the Lady of the Lake.
Glastonbury Tor
Under Glastonbury Tor a sword was created, apparently through holographics, to do battle with the holographic knight designed to protect the cavern. The sword would only be able to be touched by one who solved one of the tests, passing through any else who touches it. The sword was wedged into a stone similar to that in the myth. Camelot
On Camelot another sword, this one physical, was situated in another stone in the town. When the males of the town became of age they would try to remove the sword. This sword was removed by a young woman, Valencia who passed the sword to Col. Cameron Mitchell when he was fighting another holographic knight. This sword was capable of being held by others.
