Cimmeria is a planet in the Milky Way galaxy which is home to the Cimmerians, a population of humans who were under the protection of the Asgard Protected Planets Treaty.

Overview

Cimmeria is a forested world with many towns and farmlands scattered around and the populations are descended from northern European people. Their are long aquaducts running from the mountains bringing water to the towns. At the Stargate is a device known as Thor's Hammer which scans for symbiotes and then beams away any Goa'uld and Jaffa into a labyrinth in the mountains. In the labyrinth, prisoners are greeted by a hologram of a human-form Thor. The only way to leave the labyrinth is the Hall of Mjolnir, which will kill a Goa'uld who passes through it. History

SG-1 traveled to Cimmeria to meet with the Asgard and Teal'c and Colonel O'Neill were beamed away by Thor's Hammer. O'Neill and Teal'c had to battle a Goa'uld-infested Unas within the labyrinth while Carter and Daniel had to find a way into the labyrinth, just in time to witness the death of the Unas and use Teal'c Staff weapon to damage Thor's Hammer and allow Teal'c to leave unharmed. It was discovered that the Goa'uld Heru'ur had invaded Cimmeria and killed most of the population. SG-1 traveled to Cimmeria and made contact with the real Asgard through the Hall of Thor's Might, a series of tests to determine if the Cimmerians were advanced enough to see them in their true form. Due to SG-1's intervention, the Asgard decided to leave behind a teacher to help the Cimmerians rebuild their world. (SG1: "Thor's Chariot")
