- — Daniel Jackson
Athena is a minor Goa'uld, the Greek goddess of war, and a former underlord of various System Lords.
Biography
Underlord
- "Now, according to what I've learned, she was a minor player who rose to mid-tier status by pursuing alliances with more powerful rivals: Cronus, Camulus, Svarog, and even Anubis when he was first on the outs with the System Lords."
- — Daniel Jackson
Athena became somewhat powerful by aligning herself with more powerful Goa'uld such as Cronus, Camulus, Svarog and Anubis. She once allied herself with Qetesh, a former rival, in an attempt to locate the Clava Thessara Infinitas, the key to infinite treasure, in order to find the location of a hidden cache of Ancient technology. Qetesh double-crossed Athena, making her believe that she had found the key and the two became rivals again. (SG1: "Memento Mori")
The Trust
Athena allied herself with Ba'al and The Trust on Earth and took the body of Charlotte Mayfield. Using Mayfield's body Athena was able to use Farrow-Marshall, an aeronautics firm, resources to aid Ba'al in his plans. When Samantha Carter was investigating the disappearance of Alex Jameson, the CFO of Farrow-Marshall, which was connected to the appearance of a Jaffa body on Earth, Athena met with Carter using the guise of Mayfield to fool Carter. (SG1: "Ex Deus Machina")
Around a year later, Athena had Vala Mal Doran, former host of Qetesh, captured in an attempt to locate any information about the Clava Thessara Infinitas and used some technology to retrieve it, however the facility where she was being held was attacked and Vala escaped. Athena sent personnel to locate Vala, who's memories had been accidentally wiped, while attempting to run Farrow-Marshall by herself.(SG1: "Memento Mori")
